Create, Communicate, Heal
What is Family Therapy?
“A family's patterns of behavior influences the individual and...may need to be a part of the treatment plan. In marriage and family therapy, the unit of treatment isn't just the person - even if only a single person is interviewed - it is the set of relationships in which the person is imbedded.” -from the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT)
Family therapists respect the enormous impact our families have on who we are, and what we do in our life and relationships. Whether seeing a family, a couple, or an individual adult or child, these therapists pay special attention to the family "ways" of being, doing, and relating. Family therapists know that these ways hold valuable information that will help the family solve problems, repair relationships, and begin healing.
